Bridget, your website alone is so inspiring! So many of us think if we keep "dark things" in the dark, they won't be seen. Unfortunately, they just end up coming out anyway, in one form or another, and in a liss constructive way than had we just brought them into the light.
I have been working on writing a story of my own that has not only been cathartic to me, but will also be helpful to other women who may be in an abusive relationship. My hope is to help women see the warning signs before it is too late. It was almost too late for me in my first marriage.
Thank you for inspiring me to bring these past events into the light!

Dear Bridget,

I find your work so inspiring. I am from an abusive home, my father a pedophile. Through a lot of difficult self-work and discovery I have chosen a far different way of life than my family. I would like to share my life lessons and empowering transformations with others but I am dyslexic and struggle with writing yet I have a story yearning to be told. Would you be willing to discuss this further?

Fate, or something, led me to watch Oprah today with Melissa Moore and Dr. Phil. My heart goes out to Melissa and I think she was fortunate to have you write her book. I knew immediately you were the right person for my book too. I have been wanting, needing, to write about a horribly traumatic experience I had, and survived only by "dancing as fast as I could" first, for two days on a cargo ship in the middle of the ocean, and then for years after the incident by sheer determination, courage and resourcefulness. Altho' encouraged for years by many wise professionals, I keep putting off writing about it for fear of not doing it right. The reason I am DRIVEN to write about my experience is to tell about the dynamic that saved my life in the end, and, I like to think, my sanity. This is a topic that has only been TOUCHED on brieflly by Oprah, Dr. Phil and others as they discussed something else, but I have NEVER seen anything on TV (in layman's language) about this dynamic that could save many many lives. I have been looking for someone with your skill, experience, insight and understanding to help write this book. My reasons are not all altruistic - - it would also be a good for my healing if I thought more people understood why I did some things and made some decisions that contributed to putting myself in the way of such danger. I am lucky to be alive and I think I can help others - - more specifically, by sharing my story and the resources that helped me, I believe lives can be saved, and many other positive outcomes. Helping others might make some sense out of what happened. I have been strongly encouraged to write this book by many who know about my experience and I have a story to tell but I can't tell it most effectively without someone of your calibre to do it right. I know you'll be swamped with offers after the Oprah Show but if we could talk, I think you would be interested. Thanks from the bottom of my heart for reading this.

It is fantastic to see how well you have done for yourself. It would seem you finally found your calling...I knew that one day you would. Sure beats working construction for a living... :)
